Current hoof trimming protocols are currently utilizing a two-dimensional paradigm of trimming to the longitudinal axis of the lower limb. Ula Krzanowska “THE HOOF ARCHITECT”, brings a new but fundamental approach to understanding and addressing the nature of individual form of the hoof capsule. Ula Krzanowska “THE HOOF ARCHITECT” will explore a three-dimensional approach to assessing hoof form accounting for conformational challenges that directly influence both form and function of the equine hoof. This approach will enable farriers and hoof care professionals alike to determine what could be considered normal form for an individual.
Ula Krzanowska “THE HOOF ARCHITECT” holds an MSc in Architecture as well as an illustrator and farrier combined. Ula brings an understanding of the physics of normal and abnormal loading on a given three-dimensional structure which is easily applied to the equine limb and explains many of the common anomalies hoof care professionals commonly encounter in their daily practice.
Ula Krzanowska “THE HOOF ARCHITECT” will be presenting on hoof strength, explaining common issues, mistakes and different trimming whilst addressing not only the whole hoof but whole horse concept of foot care..
Noted researcher, tutor, and clinician Dr. Mark Caldwell PhD FWCF will put a range of searching questions on the nature of hoof capsule morphology seeking out explanations for common disorders and pathologies.
