The day is structured but totally flexible and will give you the opportunity to practice and improve your shoemaking and fitting skills whether for specific feet\, specimen shoes or an upcoming exam. You will have a highly skilled tutors present to observe (minimum student : tutor ratio 1:4)\, analyse and guide you at each stage for your own individual improvement. \n\nAll shoes will be made and fitted to cadaver limbs.\nPoints to be covered but not limited to will be:\nGuide to making and fitting straight bar shoes\, front and hindsMaterial calculation for 3/4 and fully fulleredToe variations\, rolled\, rocker and multi directional (and how much to adjustment of calculation for each)Set down bar (and how much to adjust calculation)Individual shoemaking techniques\nExtremely small number of attendees so the day can be personalised to the individual and their needs\n\nTeas\, coffee and provided \nThis course qualifies for CPD points \nThe Course Tutors \n																										 \nRichard is based in Leicester and apprenticed with well known competition farrier David Smith . \nRichard was a member of the England Apprentice Team for three years and has continued his competition career including competing at Calgary. Richard achieved his Associate qualification in 2017 and is currently working towards his fellowship award. \n																										 \nMark is a holder of a PhD from The University of Liverpool a FWCF as well as a former member of the England’s Farrier Team\, a former head lecturer at the Myerscough school of Farrier science and was responsible for the development of the BSc (Hons) program. \nHe has lectured and demonstrated advanced farriery techniques around the globe including Europe\, The USA\, South America (the highlight being several trips to Brazil)

DESCRIPTION:Description\n THIS IS A DEFINATIVE “LIGHT BULB” MOMENT FOR FARRIERY & HOOF CARE STUDENTS\nBy bringing two dimensional imagery into a three dimensional arena this excellent one day event\, with two highly renowned farriers\, will help you have a deeper understanding of the functional anatomy of the horses limb.  \nCourse delivery -A choice of tickets are available: \n\nHands on Ticket: Ideal for farriers\, physios or anyone who’d like to get hands on.\nOnline Ticket: A digital live broadcast event for those interested in relating external points of the horse to its internal musculoskeletal structures as they pertain to farriery and without the need for disection as a method of demonstration.\n\nCourse content – The event will support your knowledge gained from text books\, transporting into a practical and tangible understanding of how structures and the mechanics work and how this can impact your decisions made in everyday farriery.  \nLearning of anatomy makes so much more sense when you can actually locate individual structures of the equine limb and locomotor system In-Vivo gives a unique insght into how they work. \nIf getting hands on\, the day will consist of individual tasks will be allocated. A consulate professional Paul is an excellent anatomist and lecturer . \nNeil Madden FWCF \nNeil is an inordinately experienced highly qualified trainer within the farriery profession with  30 years of experience. \nNeil  a consummate and accomplished professional farriery lecture\, instructor and assessor \, transferred his high standards of craftsmanship and in-depth knowledge of farriery from the military stream\,School of Farriery\, to the civilian National Vocational Training/ Diploma of the worshipful company of Farriers (Dip WCF) system.
