About this course

Affiliate Training Course

This course is designed to prepare the student for national or international accreditation at Diploma or Certification level, Course materials and standards are drawn from the UK National Standards for Farriery, The European Certified Farrier Program and the American Farriers Association  Certified  Farriery Program. 

The theoretical aspects of the curriculum are delivered via over 100 hrs of on-line lectures, video tutorials and supported by numerous session documents and revision notes.  Student progress throughout the course is monitored by a series of tests and online assignments with individual tutorial feed back. 

Anatomy – the study of normal structures of the body and its tissues

Physiology – the study of functions of the structures and tissues

Farriery Theory – including foot balance, trimming protocols, shoeing protocols, shoe fitting styles and criteria 

Common Ailments, Injuries and Diseases of the limb and foot – including lameness examination and recognition, pathology of diseases and corrective shoeing modalities 

The course will utilise current Veterinary Nomenclature Terminology referring to the positional and directional views of the equine related to the limbs and feet

Course Cost: £1200 + £50 enrollment fee
